About Me

Since 1994, I have worked in Rhode Island and Massachusetts public and private schools as a music educator. I have extensive experience teaching general music, instrumental lessons, band, chorus, glee, beginning guitar, and recorder at the elementary and middle school levels.
I believe in a hands-on approach to learning where children sing, create, imagine, move, and make music in every music class.

Since September, 2015, I have been so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach music to children in my hometown of Smithfield! I currently teach children in grades K-5 at Anna M. McCabe Elementary School and Raymond C. LaPerche Elementary School in the Smithfield Public School System.  I am passionate about helping children in our town to develop a life-long love and appreciation of music.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Rhode Island College and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University.

In addition, I am also a workshop presenter, grant writer, Discovery Education teacher leader, RIDE Teacher Resource Summit participant, RIDE Resource Library contributor, music curriculum writer, concert director, and music enrichment activities developer.

In 2015, I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for the North Providence Public School district, and in 2016 I was named Teacher of the Year for Anna McCabe Elementary School.
